Drift Boat Guided Trips
Our guides will set you up with the perfect drift boat day trip. The guides do all the rowing, while offering you pointers on technique and the best places to cast your line. Just enjoy drifting down the river, casting your line and pulling trout out of the blue waters.
If you'd rather cast while wading, guides will set you in the right positions to catch fish. Guides find those perfect access points that save you time and allow you to better enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds you.
Sample Itineraries for a Three-Day Stay
Below are samples of great days of fishing and sight seeing enjoyed by visitors to The Old Kirby Place. Call us and we will work with you to make sure your time here is memorable. These are suggestions only and can easily be revised to suit your particular interests.
Sample Guided Fly Fishing Itinerary One
Your first day at The Old Kirby Place would start with a guided float trip on the Madison River's Section I. If you have equipment, bring it along with you if you'd like. If you don't, don't worry. Guides will provide you with everything you need, including a delicious lunch.
The second day at The Old Kirby Place you would move on to the Madison River's Section II, where flies will dance on the waters, and hopefully entice a trout or two into taking a bite.
Should you wisely chose a third day of guided fly fishing, you'll experience a float trip on Madison River's Section III.
Sample Guided Fly Fishing Itinerary Two
Day one starts with a trip to Yellowstone National Park. The guides will check river conditions and present you with the opportunity to cast your line in rivers located in some of the most beautiful countryside anywhere. Make sure to bring a camera to capture photos of animals native to the park.
Your second day at The Old Kirby Place would include a guided float trip on the Madison River's Section I.
The third day would include wading any one of the numerous streams and rivers in the immediate vicinity.
Sample Guided Fly Fishing Itinerary Three
Taking a different tack for your first day, you could visit ghost towns Virginia City and Nevada City, or any of the other non-fishing activities where you can experience a different perspective of Montana before you hit the waters for fishing.
Day two of this trip includes a guided wading trip in Yellowstone National Park. Your guide will place you in the perfect spot to cast your line and land fish.
Enjoy a guided float trip on the Madison River on day three.
In addition to world class fly fishing, Montana offers visitors countless other adventure opportunities. Some of these adventures include visiting Yellowstone National Park where you can see Old Faithful, The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, the Yellowstone Historic Center Museum and the park's IMAX theatre. There's also plenty of animal watching in the area including spotting bison, bears, moose, eagles, and wolves among others. Visitors to The Old Kirby Place also enjoy golfing, hiking and visiting the Wolf Discovery Center.
