Located in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone world of fly fishing, The Old Kirby Place sits on the banks of the Madison River just 34 miles south of Ennis, and 38 miles north of West Yellowstone, Montana. Within an hour's drive, you could be fishing the waters of Yellowstone National Park, Firehole, Gibbons, Gallatin, Henry's Fork, Yellowstone, Beaverhead or Ruby Rivers.

At 6,000 feet elevation, visitors to The Old Kirby Place enjoy dry, sunny days with temperatures in the 70s and 80s and nights cool enough to sleep under a down comforter. The Old Kirby Place sunrises are splendid and our sunsets are spectacular.

Bozeman Airport

Directions to The Old Kirby Place from Bozeman

The Old Kirby Place is approximately 85 miles from the airport. Leaving Bozeman Airport, turn right and go through Belgrade. Turn left on Highway 85 and continue eight miles. At the traffic light, turn right on Highway 84 and proceed thirty miles to Norris. Turn left onto Highway 287 and travel through Ennis. Thirty-four miles past Ennis on Highway 287, locate and turn right at the number 15 mile marker. Drive 200 yards and you have arrived!

West Yellowstone Airport

West Yellowstone, Montana is serviced by SkyWest Airlines a Delta affiliate. Several flights each day operate between Salt Lake City and West Yellowstone. Avis is located in the airport terminal building.

Directions to The Old Kirby Place from West Yellowstone

The Old Kirby Place is approximately 35 miles from the airport. When leaving the West Yellowstone airport turn left on Highway 191 and travel for 6.6 miles, then turn left on highway 287 toward Ennis. Travel approximately 28.6 miles and turn left after the number 14 mile marker at the sign for camping designated by a blue camping trailer.
